Our very own Survey Systems Manager, having been with the company for over 25 years, has recently taken up a very significant role. John Cooper, previously a Senior Surveyor, will now take charge of our project and personnel management. The position is quite a drastic change from primarily working on location conducting off-shore surveys, as he's now working closely with our office based personnel. When asked how he felt about spending more time in an office environment, John said "It's a big change for me. I'm used to having to carry around a lot of heavy equipment in all kinds of weather, it'll be nice to have a dry roof over my head."
John's now taken full responsibility of our project management for survey operations, giving him an opportunity to take more of a leadership and organisational role. He's currently working from two of our UK offices: Lowestoft and Northumberland. On the distance between the offices, John said "I don't mind the travel, I can get a lot of work done in my mind thanks to cruise control. Working in the two offices gives me a great chance to get to really know the people behind the operations, and I'm really looking forward to being part of that."
In addition to managing projects John is also taking charge of personnel organisation and movement, client liaison and all of the paperwork associated with the tasks. John said to us "It's an exciting opportunity and I'm looking forward to see what I can do. It's a bit different to what I'm used to, but I've been in a management position so the transition should be relatively simple."
