RISCm(Lite) Free entry into Integrated Corrosion Management and ControlIn line with the principles of SCM - supporting Plant Facilities in Controlling and Mitigation of Corrosion throughout the world we decided the most effective way to do that is to make the RISCm system available as broadly as possible to current and new Clients, at the lowest cost feasible. Where our high-end tools are deployed by those companies and organisations who have developed the most sophisticated requirements for Component, Integrity, Corrosion Control and Fabric Maintenance Management, we understand there are many facilities where the ability to take advantage of the latest and most reliable integrity management systems does not exist, be that because of financial or personnel limitations. Of the three versions of our system of control RISCm(Lite) is specifically designed for deployment as a ‘first corrosion management system’, offering the ability to get up and running quickly with Component Management, Corrosion Tools, Qualitative Risk Assessment (criticality development) and Fabric support. If you have no other ‘formalised’ corrosion management systems in place currently, or your systems are ad-hoc and based on spreadsheets etc it’s likely that you will qualify for a FREE installation of RISCm(Lite). Our intention is to get you up and running quickly, support you in recognising and reducing your exposure to corrosion challenges and put you on the path to a robust management solution. The software system will cost you nothing. We think you’ll like the system and when your plant grows to the point of requiring the control aspects offered in the other versions of RISCm you’ll become a life long customer of Strategic Corrosion Management – we look forward to it! Because the RISCm toolset is largely ‘library driven’ much of the necessary information you’ll need to start managing your corrosion situation is already included in this free offering. We will run your solution from our servers so we’ll handle all the data back-up and IT support and you can just get on with the job of managing your plant. Once we determine exactly your plant requirements, and set-up the libraries to suit, we will issue you with connection details and you’ll be up and running in a matter of hours. Obviously we’ll support you with video and on line tutorials and you can get direct support from us at any time. This is the perfect solution to get a corrosion management toolbox operating on your plant at zero cost yet still applying the same industry leading technologies used around the world! What do we get with the free system? The page 'The Flavours of RISCm' gives a fairly broad understanding of the content of the Lite version of the system. It has almost all of the modules the full version has, though the service provided in each of those modules will be of a lower level of functionality. SmartFilter, Threat Management,Data Sharing Tools and some higher level functions are purposely left out of the Lite package, in some cases because they are too advanced for an 'fist corrosion management system' or to differentiate the free version from the more sophisticated paid versions. Are there really no costs involved in deploying the free system? Yes, really! To get the basic system up and running you'll need a PC that has connection to the web. Of course we can offer a multitude of support services too, but since RISCm(Lite) is simple and straight forward you can ensure your expenditure is limited to zero or very low - you decide. Speed of the system will depend upon your broadband connection though the system makes no great demands on your connection or hardware. Some clients feel they need the support of a technical team to get them started in the first instance, and for these circumstances we can provide a set-up service to get your RISCm(Lite) system up and running to your requirements as fast as possible. We can limit charges for this set-up to exactly match your budget and objectives. There are a number of libraries built in to RISCm(Lite) which you will use to manage your system, and these are pre-populated for you, so you dont need to invest time and personnel into building them. We have worked very hard to ensure that you can apply the system straight away and start to develop your corrosion management controls. There are a number of other libraries which will make the system significantly easier to use and more effective in terms of control and speed of operation and these can be populated by your own personnel or can be bought directly form us as a premium service. These extra's are not essential however! You'll find in the Lite version that you may be offered 'appropriate and logical' information at various points in the software operation, supplied by outside vendors and suppliers, though these will always be absolutely applicable to the pages being viewed in the system. These informational pop-ups can be turned off by subscription, but in many ways they are highly useful to fledgling corrosion management personnel and often alert them to the latest technology available or a new method for control purposes. For example, when viewing Corrosion Record Wall Thickness pages the user may see a pop-up discussing a new method for wall thickness analysis, or on the latest type of UT equipment available. All totally appropriate! Some companies have decided that they would like to have the support of SCM technical or Corrosion personnel available for questions or with whom they can bounce ideas off. In this instance SCM make a number of low cost support packages available ranging from on-site visits, on-line 'hands-on' technical help where we run your system on the server and demonstrate it or change aspects to your requirements, on-line webinar trainings for specific aspects of the system and finally telephone or Skypetm support when you need help fast. Where you need reports that are not currently available in the system you have one of two options to select from: Where the report would be of value to our other clients generally, then we will develop and install the report for free, and make it available to other clients soon after you have confirmed it fits your requirements. If we feel it is specific to you and your plant then we would offer a low cost report development service and installation in your server very quickly. How do I get it? In order that we ensure the free version of RISCm is going to Organisations and Companies trully deserving of the service, thats is, not to Inspection, Consulting or Contracting companies where they will make external profitable use of the system, we need certain assurances to be in place. These assurances are easy to give and we make the entire process as simple as possible. here are the steps:
That's it! Once your application is approved we will allocate you your 5 User names / passwords and licenses, and send you a link to open the system on your desktop. It will take around 3 minutes for the automatic set-up each PC on which you run RISCm the first time it is started - and in future it will take only seconds to connect with our servers. Before you start using RISCm(Lite) however, perhaps you'd like to take a look at the Getting Started and other tutorial videos which will also become available to you with your server links. These will get you up and running in the least amount of time and will be a resource for you to review at any point in the future. What are the limitations of the free system?
*An offshore complex may consist of an offshore field, and plant the platforms making up the fields. Where deployed onshore, complex relates to a single installation and plant the units of production or facility within that single installation.
