Pipe Markers allowing for content identification - TCI SafeMark

Pipe Marker Fitting
1. Safemark™ is less than half the cost of painted on markers over the life of a plant.

2. SafeMark™ does not promote Crevice Corrosion as experienced with tape applied markers, and again is far more cost effective.

3. SafeMark™ colours, text and even pictograms can be specified for individual lines.

4. Safemark™ pipe markers can be relocated or removed making maintenance easy and re-marking unnecessary.

5. Plant Engineers can hand write comments or codes in an optional transparent window in the marker body.

6. There is no cleaning or preparation required before fitting

Health & Safety Regulations now call for:-

"all pipework to be identified with the type of materials they contain. They should be clearly marked to highlight flow direction at valves and joints and show pictograms for substances classified as dangerous".

Most Engineers recognise the time saving involved in rapidly identifying pipes rather than "walking the line" and scouring drawings. In addition the hazards faced by unfamiliar personnel and outside contractors during maintenance work are vastly reduced, as is the time spent on line identification for "permit to Work" systems.

Pipes and likely Marker areas

SafeMark™ is a unique method of identifying pipes and their contents. SafeMark™ can be fitted rapidly without special tools - and they are extremely cost effective.

The pipe markers are specially formed from a "memory retaining" material, printed on its inner surface with colour coding - text -identification codes - and individual notes if required. The standard pipe markers are both UV resistant and for temperatures up to 80 Deg .C. though higher temperature resistance is available with our specialist marker range (contact us for more details on temperature resistance).

Pipe Marker Application
TCI helps you to identify how many markers are required for your plant - and where they should be located. Where required we can design the colouring and style of text which best suit's your needs. Our technical staff are available to undertake an on-site survey - to quote you for the number of pipe markers required - and to fit them for you if required.

Fitting is a simple process: just unfurl the marker and allow it to snap around the pipe. On a larger diameter pipes - or at exposed locations - we can provide a banding system for additional security. SafeMark can be fitted quickly using any form of plant access equipment, including 'rope access' techniques.

TCI can supply you with pipe markers from our standard range - or can design to your specific instructions.

The benefits you get with SafeMark are:

Less downtime tracing lines

Reduced injury time and costs associated with improper handling of pipe contents.

Minimised identification costs over the life of your plant.

Compliance with Health & Safety Regulations

THE MOST EFFICIENT, PROFESSIONAL, COST EFFECTIVE SYSTEM OF IDENTIFICATION FOR PIPES AVAILABLE.

TCI’s SafeMark™ pipe markers fulfil the statutory requirements of typical Health and Safety Regulations around the world, which demands that all employers display appropriate safety signs to advise personnel of the type of gases, liquids and solids within pipes.

The pipes must also be clearly marked in critical areas, such as valves and joints - and signs on pipes containing dangerous substances should include approved style pictograms or hazard symbols on a coloured background.

SafeMark™ snap-around pipe markers comply with BS1710 and meet HSE and relevant COSHH statutory directives. Our markers include regulation symbols and text and we can print any other company specific data to order. Pipe cleaning is not required and the markers are fixed in seconds. They can also be removed easily for inspection or maintenance work.

SafeMark™ will not support flame, and, for long life, the markers are reverse printed on the inner face of the marker base which is extremely UV stable. Trials show no appreciable deterioration over 13 years. Ion chromatography tests prove SafeMark™ generates no significant levels of chloride.

Where required, TCI can provide a total service spanning survey - custom design - manufacture - and installation. Please contact us for details. After designing your markers we supply black & white artwork for your approval. Markers are normally dispatched 4 to 6 weeks after acceptance of artwork, though we often have stocks of standard colours available for immediate dispatch.
