SafeMark™ Rapid-Fit pipe markers are a unique method of identifying pipes and their contents, and large diameter cables and safety issues associated with them. SafeMark™ can be fitted rapidly without special tools - and they are extremely cost effective.
SafeMark markers are specially formed from a "memory retaining" material, printed on its inner surface with colour coding - text - identification codes - and individual notes if required. The standard sized markers are both UV resistant and for temperatures up to 80 Deg .C +. (contact us for more details on temperature resistance).
SafeMark™ fulfills the statutory requirements of typical Health and Safety Regulations around the world, which demands that all employers display appropriate safety signs to advise personnel of the type of gases, liquids, solids and hazards associated with pipe contents.
With pipework, the pipes must be clearly marked in critical areas, such as valves and joints - and signs on pipes containing dangerous substances should include approved style pictograms or hazard symbols on a coloured background.
SafeMark™ complies with BS1710 and meets HSE and relevant statutory directives. Our markers include regulation symbols and text and we can print any other company specific data to order. Pipe cleaning is not essential (though recommended) and the markers are fixed in seconds. They can also be removed easily for inspection, maintenance or substrate cleaning work.
SafeMark™ will not support flame, and, for long life, the markers are reverse printed on the inner face of the marker base which is extremely UV stable. Design life expectancy is in excess of 6 years though some trials have shown no appreciable deterioration over 13 years. Ion chromatography tests prove SafeMark™ generates no significant levels of chloride.
Where required, SCM can provide a total service spanning site survey - custom design - manufacture - and installation. Contact SCM for further details. Following the marker design phase, all artwork is submitted for your approval. We typically dispatch orders from 4 to 6 weeks after acceptance of artwork, though we often stock standard designs, available for immediate dispatch.
SCM helps you to identify how many markers are required for your plant - and where they should be located. Where required we can design the colouring and style of text which best suit's your needs. Our technical staff are available to undertake an on-site survey - to quote you for the number of pipe markers required - and to fit them for you if required.
Fitting is a simple process: just unfurl the marker and allow it to snap around the pipe. On a larger diameter pipes - or at exposed locations - we can provide a banding system for additional security. SafeMark can be fitted quickly using any form of plant access equipment, including 'rope access' techniques.
SCM can supply you with pipe markers from our standard range - or can design to your specific instructions.
- Less downtime tracing lines
- No Corrosion or Chloride issues associated with 'stick-on' markers.
- Reduced injury time and costs associated with improper handling of pipe contents.
- Reusable after maintenance.
- Minimised identification costs over the life of your plant.
- Compliance with Health & Safety Regulations
- THE MOST EFFICIENT, PROFESSIONAL & COST EFFECTIVE SYSTEM OF IDENTIFICATION FOR PIPES AND LARGE DIAMETER CABLES AVAILABLE.
Strategic Corrosion Management have harnessed the SafeMark technology used in our Pipe Markers to provide the same rapid fit characteristics and cost efficient solution to marking your high voltage / large diameter / laser cable network.
Safemark cable markers can be customised to meet your specific needs and in accordance with current cable marking regulations. SafeMark can be easily removed for inspection, maintenance or cable replacement and subsequently re-used where necessary.
Simply advise SCM of cable thickness and required design, and we will then supply artwork for your approval. Markers are usually dispatched 4-6 weeks following acceptance of artwork, though we often have stocks of standard sizes/colours available for immediate dispatch.
Health & Safety Regulations now call for:-
"all pipework to be identified with the type of materials they contain. They should be clearly marked to highlight flow direction at valves and joints and show pictograms for substances classified as dangerous".
Most Engineers recognise the time saving involved in rapidly identifying pipes rather than "walking the line" and scouring drawings. In addition the hazards faced by unfamiliar personnel and outside contractors during maintenance work are vastly reduced, as is the time spent on line identification for "permit to Work" systems.
